Throw out bearing always makes contact?

Im hopeing it will be ok for a few years. My bearing spins but it is not really under a load if that makes sense. 7000 miles gets me 3 or 4 years and I can live with that.

Interesting post there Pat. Thats exactly what MY throw out and clutch fingers looked like after about 7,000 miles. The Bronco guy got me beat though, he made it to 8,000.

I just got an email response to my question for the Ram technical division. The Ram 486 throw out bearing for a big block Ford specifies a .250 clearance.

0.25" clearance! They are certainly covering their butts with that one. That translates to about 1.5" at the pedal, not including other clearances.
