Default TKO-600 Vrs TKZ

Can anyone tell me what is the difference between the TKO-600 vrs. the new TKZ waiting to be released? In what instances you would pick a TKO-600 over a TKX and vice versa?

The biggest difference is in the synchros. TKO uses 60's style brass. The TKX has multi stage carbon fiber synchros like the current TR6060 used in Camaros.

You would have to have a screw loose to consider a TKO over a TKX.

TKOs have well known shifting issues. Early reviews indicated those are fixed in the TKX.

I just got a new TKO (I bought it before the new ones came out) I had a richmond 5 in my Era car, it shifted like a turd but it was bullet proof. I think my new TKO shifts perfectly. Un like other manual transmissions, you need to let the TKO find 3rd by it self, it you try to aim it into third this is where you have issues. I spoke to the guy at modern drive line and he was the one who spoke of this. He is spot on... just push up out of 2nd and it will find third itself... It shifts perfectly... However you often need to line up the syncros to get it into reverse. (put it in 2nd then reverse lines up great)... but other than that I am very happy with the TKO transmission. I have a 3.54 rear diff and a road race version of the TKO (.82 5th) geared perfectly.

TKO doesn't shift well above 6000, where the TKX is good to about 8000.

I don't know much about the TKX, but I've heard a lot of good things. I do have a TKO 600 with the Liberty Gears sycro kit and it shifts like butter.
