Default Tremec 3550 fluid change

How many quarts does it take??? I thought it was 3 but 2 brings the level just below the fill hole???????

Greg, I've found that as long as the driveshaft is not in the yoke, that particular tranny will take as much oil as you can throw at it. I know I got at least 6 in there without the driveshaft in before I slipped and fell on the ground. Hmmm.....

Good chance if you only got 2 in, there was still 1 in there in the nooks and crannies.

Oh heck, I have no idea. I am pretty sure, though, that I put 3 in mine...but that was the first fill.

I recently filled my 3550. It took about 2 3/4 qts. This was a new transmission.

Just did mine Saturday. Took 2 3/4 qts of GM Synchromesh. Paid $11.00 / qt with a 10% discount!

Thank guys

I was doing a fulid change not a dry fill so im guessing 2 Qt was about right.

Slithering, They recomend using synchromesh (man that stuff is big $$$$)
