clutch problem

Hi Guys, Dave in UK, my q is regarding a problem with a mates cobra rep, like me he has a BBF 460, he has a tremec fitted and appears to be getting what he describes as clutch lag! after changing gear 2-3-4 there is a definite pause before the drive is fully engaged similar to clutchslip, I believe he has all mcleod items fitted B/H, F/W, and he states a 12" Chevy clutch with a kevlar material disc? as supplied by Real Steel UK. Does anyone have any experience of this problem? what about using a Centerforce? or Ram, or any others? feedback/type/part nos much appreciated. Thanks in advance Dave. ps I am using a c6 initially and changing to a big spline T/L later

Is this a new install?

First thing I would ask is if the clutch is fully engaging......i.e...if it's a hydraulic clutch, then is the slave cylinder returning to its position efficiently....or is it binding on something? If it's a cable...is the cable adjusted correctly?

Also, tell him to check and see if the rear main seal on the engine is leaking....could cause some slippage if oil is getting on the clutch disc.

Lastly, is this under full throttle operation or just putting around town? Could it be spinning the tires?
