Default ID Everett Morrison 5 speed.

Everett Morrison has a 5 speed listed in their kit as a "Tremec TKO II" with a torque rating of 475lbs. Price is $2095????

Now as far as I know the TKO-500 holds up to 500lbs and is a lot cheaper ($500 or more) from what EM is asking.

What is the transmission that EM is offering, and why the high mark-up? Than again a lot of the EM parts are scaring me off with their mark-ups. For example $465 for the Lakewood bell housing???? Summit racing has the same thing at $340.

Trying to compare it to an ERA kit where they only want $1550 for the 5-speed, which seems like about as good as you could do price wise.

I am trying to tear apart EM's pricing in an attempt to find the additional value in this kit, at the higher price than the ERA. But with $500 markups over what you could get at Summit, it is scaring me away.

What am I missing?

Chris

Thanks for reminding me to update our prices. We just got a price increase from our Tremec supplier...

EM probably isn't getting the same volume pricing from the manufacturer that Summit Racing is getting...

That said, it would appear that the value of the new EM car is in the streched wheelbase length, the stainless steel frame, and a very high quality body. If those qualities are important to you, you can always outsource the non-proprietary components.
