Backward?
When we first hooked-up my TKO600 to my speedometer, it ran backward! 
0 mph & the odometer running backward. So by the time I got it to DMV for registration, it had 99,989 miles!
I told the DMV inspector, that verified my VIN number & mileage, that the odometer was not working properly. She said it doesn't matter, she must record it's current number!
So according to CA DMV, I have a 1965 Shelby Cobra, with 99,989 miles.
