Default T56 Transzilla

These ratios look like a very nice combination. Does anyone know anything about them?

Hey Tom this is Jimi from Standard Transmission and Gear, what would you like to know about them?

Is this the same gear set as G-Force put out a while back?

G-Forcce T56

You can buy the G-Force gearset seperately and fit it to your own transmission. It's something I've been looking at doing to mine.

Cheers

Jim,

1. Can I get one through you?
2. How much are they?
3. Does the modified TR56 shift as well as the TR6060?
4. How different are the cases between the T56 and the TR6060?

Thanks,
Tom

Tom I will give you a call today and we can talk about it, there are alot of different options. The TR6060 so far is only set up for a modular engine as of now, but they will shift the same. The cases look identical it is internally where they are different. I can get both transmissions and also upgrade stock T56 to handle around 600-750lbs-ft of torque. jimig@standardtransmission.com

They really do. Definitely better than the TKO600's.

Actually, for years now , GM has offered an over-the-counter gear set for the vettes, a close ratio gear set similar to that, for serious road racers.

From a previous thread (12/04):

I did a search on the LeMans racing vipers/vettes, and couldn't find any specs on the tranny gears, but I did find that GM offers a road race T56 for the vette, only an over the counter $8000 option, for scca racing. The gear spread was 2.29/1.61/1.22/1.0/0.85/0.75 , which is a lot closer than what the T56 is offered in the street camaro's, vipers, vettes. To me, this is a true close ratio 6 speed, and is probably close to optimal gear spacing for a V8 powered mid sized race car.

Isn't it interesting that the gears are the same as what transzilla offers now? Actually they have been offering those gears for awhile now I think.
