Default Lift Delivery & Set up

Good Morning:
I am closing on my house in New Jersey (Ridgewood) and I am planning my garage. Back in Georgia, I had a 4 post lift that I had to sell. When I bought it, I was able to find a company that would deliver the lift and set it up. I was wondering if any of you were aware of a similar company that has the equipment to pick up a 4 post lift and assemble on site.

Thanks in advance
Khan

If your fimiliar with any of your local tool dealers i.e. Snap-on, Matco etc. sometimes they have people lined out to installs on lifts that they sell.

Unfortunately I don't have any relationships with the tool dealers. I do appreciate your help!

Thank You

Just find one. If you pass a shop somewhere and see a tool truck stop and ask. I used to get all kinds of questions from people when I was a Snap-on dealer.

Default google Automotive Equipment

I found several companies that will deliver, setup and inspect/maintain it. Expect to pay more.

Thumbs up

When I bought my Direct Lift the local dealer had a network of installers. Check with the people you are buying from.

Check out http://www.gregsmithequipment.com/. I bought my 4 post lift from them a few years ago and I love it. If you have a vehicle capable of towing a trailer, take quick drive down to Delaware to pick it up (tax and shipping free). They forklift it right onto the trailer and you disassemble from the trailer piece-by-piece. Assembly was fairly straightforward and somewhat fun...aside from some of the occassional heavy lifting...

I purchased my Rotary Revolution lift from First Choice Automotive Equipment in Hillsborough, NJ. They delivered/installed the lift and did a great job.

I picked up my 4 post Backyard Buddy at the freight yard and brought it home on my boat trailer. I unloaded and installed it by myself using an engine hoist.

Installed myself and only hard part was lifting runners up onto cross bars. I laid post down and put cross bars into post and then tilted both post up together with the help of my son. Crossbars were set about 3' above ground then runners were slid over one end to far cross bar. Rest of lift set up from instructions.

Just as a side note, you had better check with the fine folks at town hall to make sure you can actually install a lift in your home garage. Ridgewood, being in Bergen County, has some quite "unique" rules and regulations for homeowners.

Bill S.

PS: You will love downtown, great shops, and plenty of good restaurants. If you are working in Manhattan, you will also like the train/bus schedules.....Make sure to get a parking permit though.....Ask how I know

I used to live next to Ridgewood in Ho Ho Kus. Ridgewood is a great town. I got a house walking distance to the train!

Now there's one place I'll never live, it would be a cold day down below before I would let them dictate what I could and could not have behind my closed garage door as long as you're not using it for commercial purposes. I got a problem with that !!

Well I bought a Rotary Revolution lift from First Choice Automotive Equipment with a 5000 lbs lift for between the rails. I thought I would write about my experience:

Good:
-Installation guys were great. Fast, courteous and respectful.
-Equipment is much nicer than the greg smith set up I had (which is still a great lift)

Bad:
-I paid for my lift in full 2 months before delivery and when they came to deliver the lift, they asked me for full payment again...had to spend 60 minutes proving I paid!
-The 5000lbs lift for between the rails was not available for delivery (quality issue or something) and I had to take off a second day of work for delivery...which didn't happen for a few weeks more.
- When they came to deliver the second lift accessory, they said I owed them $800! I went through the paper work drill again and they discovered that they had a math problem in the excel worksheet that drives their price quote sheet and that it didn't add in the cost of the 5000lbs lift. This would have changed my decision making at the time if I had known this!
- I then give them my AMEX to pay...they take it....call back again and let me know they only take Visa....I give them my visa number....they call back again and let me know that yes they do take AMEX and that the extra $$$ will be charged to my AMEX
- Only compensation I get from them is a free lift inspection.

Thanks,
Khan
