Cobra Mechanic in the northern NJ Area (Part II)
Guys,
We got a lot of chatter and some suggestions but I would like to get an idea of everyone's favorite BB Cobra mechanic(s) in the Northern NJ area. I don't have the time or space to do the work myself so as much as I would like to do that I can't. If you don't feel like throwing it out there in the public forum because you are afraid someone will rant about your suggestion feel free to send me a private message. I appreciate everyone's help!
Josh

Josh,
I've said it before and I'll say it again, in the northern, NJ area, it would either be Bruce's Speed Shop as he will dyno tune the engine for you while it's in the chassis, or his ex head mechanic Johnny Coy (has a small space where McCarters towing is located here in Rockaway.............

OK Josh,
The only guy I can recommend is John R. Nafziger of Lafayette. He is a builder of FE Fords only. He also builds Unique Cobras on his own custom chassis. He is a great guy and a real straight shooter. Last phone I had for him was 973 579 1818.

There is a place on rte 53 in Denville. Longfields, I think. I see different Cobras in there all the time. I would imagine the guy knows his way around a Cobra. I dont know the guy personally, but it may be worth a call.
There are 1000s of guys in NJ that are excellent mechanics...even back yard guys that are really good. You are not going to have your question answered here correctly, I suspect. While Bruce is talented, he is not the only mechanic around. Clearly, if you keep asking the same question here, you are going to keep getting the same answer. You need to pick up a phone and ask around. Network a little. You'll be surprised at how many qualified mechanics are within 10 miles of where you live.

Josh, I am slowly realizing that my clutch is starting to peter out. I can feel it slipping under hard acceleration in 5th gear. So, I am gonna do some leg work for you and I gonna talk to a bunch of contacts and hopefully I will have a decent short list in Northern NJ for you.
Dane
I cannot attempt a clutch change in my garage. It wouldnt be pretty.

Guys, thanks very much for the additional info (BlueRooster there was actually new info I got from the 2nd posting..new views I guess). I went with one of the mechanics suggested on the board and once the work is done I will share my experience with him with all of you. Thus far I am very impressed but I will reserve judgement for after I get the beast back.
Thanks to all!
Josh
P.S.- Please take the time to respond to my dyno question! I think the ultimate outcome could be good for all of us.

Check with steelcomp, he may be able to help. He is a good fellow, (or Good-fella...?).
Regards, Bret.
