2016 Tail of the Dragon & Cherohala Skyway run
To avoid any confusion with the DSCC run that Friday, I thought it'd be best to post a separate thread: the Charlotte & Raleigh area cobra groups will be doing our annual run on Saturday, September 17th. I've already tried to reach all our regulars, but for anyone who can't make it Friday and/or who wants to come out and join us Saturday, here's the tentative schedule same as years past:
Saturday, September 17th
5:45AM - Mooresville-area group will depart Sheetz Gas Station at I-77, Exit 42 (1023 Charlotte Hwy, Troutman, NC 28166)
8:00AM - Arrive Cracker Barrel I-40, Exit 44 (5 Crowell Rd, Asheville, NC 28806) (depart there ~9am)
10:00AM - Stop for refueling at Smokey Mtn Bait & Tackle (4470 US-19, Bryson City, NC 28713)
11:00AM - Arrive Fontana Dam Visitor’s Center ("Fontana Dam and Visitors Center, Stecoah NC")
Catch up with the annual TN, SC & GA folks, run the Dragon, Cherohala Skyway, maybe catch a few waterfalls.
Some of us will stay overnight in Robbinsville and run the Hwy 28 “Moonshiner” & waterfalls route Sunday before heading back home.
