Default KN weber airfilter

I have a 302 with 48 IDA style fuel injection. I'd like to get a GOOD air cleaner.

So far other then the tea strainers (that let to much stuff pass thru IMHO), and the foam filters (which i have seen catch fire when the foam became saturated with fuel and a slight backfire caused a engine fire) I haven't found to much.

I heard about these guys but haven't contacted them yet ( http://irintakes.com/Air_Filters.html ). Has anyone tried them? They look pretty cool.

As cool as open trumpets are, if you want a GOOD AIR filter so your engine doesn't get get sandblasted go for an oiled cotton wire like K&N.

My personal preference is to have all carbs breathing from a common airbox similar to a sprintcar.

You get more surface area that any one cylinder can "see" on the induction stroke.

I hate to be the usual "Use the Search Function" Guy but....

There are a ton of long winded threads on these subjects. The bottom line is that no one has come up with the perfect solution. Filters are ugly & restrictive. Boxes can work but no one wants that under the hood.
