Exclamation Free tuning by Jim Inglese - Deal of a Lifetime!

To all of us Weber owners, the offer of a lifetime is being extended.

I am in touch with Jim Inglese and in an email from him, I found out that he will be attending this year's SAAC Convention at Watkins Glen, NY the weekend of June 8-10. He will be attending the social gathering Thursday evening and then he will be set up in the Cobra Automotive tent on Friday and Saturday to talk tech and tune cars.

He will personally tune ANY car with Weber carburation (no matter where the system was purchased) at NO CHARGE! That's right - NO CHARGE (labor).

Yes, you read that right. If your car has Weber carbs, Jim will be happy to tune it at the convention at no charge for his labor. (Any jets or parts that are needed will be charged.)

Please let me tell you that if you are able to take advantage of this offer - get there!

At the end of last summer, I took my big block Cobra to Jim after 7 years of playing with it myself and several months of communicating with Jim. He worked magic on the car in person. He told me that due to the new fuel compositions, it is very hard to set up the carbs based upon historical wisdom. You need to see what your engine needs today. My final setup even surprised him, but it runs great now! My floats are right, it doesn't backfire, it doesn't leak fuel and my wife is happy. What more can a man want? Thanks, Jim.

So, don't hesitate. If you can get your car & Webers to Jim that weekend, I guarantee that you will have a great running Weber system and no labor charges to boot!

I actually have promised Jim that I wouldn't post my set up on a web site for a couple of reasons. First and foremost, tuning and set up of the carbs is a part of Jim's business. I paid for him to set mine up properly and it would not be fair to him for me to give away his work and expertise on a public forum. It is also a case of not everyone's engine will require the same set up. It is very specific to your engine and therefore, if I published my set up and it didn't work for someone else (who thought their engine was similar to mine) it would erode Jim's reputation as people might think that his set ups aren't right. Believe me when I say that he made my car run well when no one else could for many years. ( I also kept using set ups I got off the internet or just "other" experts.)

I am a believer. Contact Jim and you will be very pleased by what can get done.

What you say makes perfect sense.
Have mine tuned pretty good but im sure that an expert like Jim could take it to a whole new level.
Sounds like a good excuse for a road trip, with the wife of course.
If i can swing it i will go.

You going up, Zimmy? I'm planning on leaving the morning of the 7th. Going to try to be there by Lunch or before.

Thanks for this tip. Last time I talked to Jim, he was still unsure if he was going to make it. I'm happy to hear he'll be there with the CA guys.. My car appears to be spot-on right out of the box, but maybe he can squeeze a bit more out of it..

Also, +1 on all you said about his reputation, business, and discrete differences in engines that would appear to be "the same" on paper.

I would love to be there but have a long standing (unchangeable) commitment on the coast of Maine that same weekend. Real bummed out about missing it though. If you go, give Jim my best and have a great and safe time.

If you promised him you would not share jetting, I can understand. A man's word should mean something. The reasons given seem a little silly, though. How he comes to his conclusions in jetting can't be taken from him & many here have posted Jim's words on tuning on many occasion & it has only helped his business.

Zimmy,

Jim going to Watkins Glenn makes me wish I was still in PA instead of FL. I did finally get the Webers he built for me installed a couple of weeks ago along with the cam change out. Tuning went very well following the instruction Jim includes with his build and not only does my 427 run like never before, it is now a joy to drive.

Thank you so much for your help and sending me to Jim to begin with. The photos of your temp gage/heater hose set up also worked like a champ!

Where in Switzerland are you? I work for a company that is owned by a Swiss company located in Heerbrugg. It is called Vectronix AG. I will be visiting there about mid-July. Very pretty country. Was there last June and looking forward to a return visit.

Thought I would circle back with a post SAAC 37 follow-up to this thread. It was great meeting Jim there and after driving my car and putting it through it's paces, the only thing that it needed was a slight drill size adjustment to the idle jet holders and a complimentary idle circuit trimming. This was to correct a relatively negligible transition stumble that Jim thought could be improved upon. In the end, he and I both were very happy with the results of his work. He thought the installation I did of my system was very well done, and I was amazed with how well he could pre-set every thing from the engine specs I gave him and have an "out of the box" package run as well as it did initally. If you are contemplating Webers, do yourself a favor and do it right through Jim!!
