Gary,

Thats where I first read about the 51ida's. Was just wondering how well the work on an FE engine compared to say the 48's. Is there any loss of bottom torque?

Engine capacity in combination with cam/heads/compression etc determines venturi size.
Throttle butterfly size should be 20% larger than venturi.

In the ideal world, the inlet tract should be the size of the inlet valve.

The venturi is then about 85% of the barrel size, the valve throat is also about 85% of the valve diameter.

The 58s would allow a venturi of about 46-47mm, if your engine needs this much.

I've seen quad 58 DCOEs with 47mm venturis on a 427 race engine.
