Default Air cleaners

O.K. all you webber guru's. I know that the fuzy little air cleaners will screw up the settings on the Webbers but can you set up your Webbers so they will run right with the cleaners on. As far as I can see I think that I need to be about 3 jet sizes off if I run the cleaners compaired to running without them??
Any help will be meet with wide open ears........
Thank You Bob

Bob:

I've got the same issue. I'm setting my carbs up (48IDA's) without the Air Screens and using the LM1. After I get everything right, I'm going to modify the settings to run the Screens. I'll post the results. Right now I've got the Idle Circuit running right on, and I go rich above 1800 rpm's. I'm changing out the Emulsion Tubes and Air Correctors and see what happens. I'm doing it tomorrow evening. Hopefully, I'll have the carbs dialed in this weekend and I can start on the tuning with the screens on.

Stay tuned.....no pun intended.

Dean

Dean, I've got the 48IDF's but I've had 48IDA's on the car before and they don't tune that much different. I didn't get a answer that fast so I was trying it out and found that I had to go down 2 jet sizes (idle jets) with the air cleaners on. Now the bad news, it was still a little rich. Ok mixture at idle, a little rich at cruise and accel, But when I let off, the carbs went real lean I said real lean. So as I see it, I would not run the air cleaners because of an uncontrollable air fuel ratio. Bob
