EXTRA TRACK DAY before/after event?
Sent an email to ET to see if she was having any "track days" before or after the Bash. She said that if we could get 10-12 cars she would consider it. Anyone else interested in EXTRA TRACK TIME, or if the Track Day event fills up ... this could be an alternative (although more $$$). Will start another thread to get a head count and interest level. Let me know

Ron,
You might chat with LamaLuv, he did this last year and might be doing it again; not sure. Note, HMSA is running their vintage historics and practice on Saturday and Sunday are their official races so the track will be unavailable those days (some of us are going to stay and spectate on Sunday to see the races) but you might see about Thursday the 16th or Monday 21st after that Bash. Pro Control Driving Academy is doing our instruction this year / FYI

Talking Extra Track day

Count me in on an extra track day, preferably Monday, but Wed would also work. I am planning on staying over to watch the race on Sunday anyway, so that would work for me..but if everyone else want to do it on Wed, that works also.

I'm in!!

Folks,

Please post questions and comments regarding "extra track day" to Ron's / SF_SN888KE thread: http://www.clubcobra.com/forums/show...035#post689035

Help us keep the confusion to a minimum. The WSCB is May 17-20, 2007.

Thank you, John

Duane, John and volunteers,
I'm available to help clean up after Sat/Sunday (assuming there is an Extra Track Day Monday). Post what needs to be "cleaned up" and do a sign up list for extra volunteers. We can clean the trash and leaves with our side exhaust!

Hey Perry, GLAD you and Beverley are returning from Surrey BC/Canada for your 3rd year! Maybe you can caravan down with all these new folks coming from Washington/Oregon this year.

Will be interesting to see... there are a few others from Eastern US sending emails pondering the trip now too. Got one from Hawaii registered now. Sun Coast Cobras / Backdraft trailered last year, but they came all the way from Southern Florida which was a nice suprise.

Man, I'd like to go. I have to check my wife's calendar; I'm not even sure my car is up to muster on such a long trip; I only have about 450 miles on the new engine/build.

I'll have to play this one by ear but keeping my fingers crossed.

Default Determination is the key.

289_FIA,

Hehehehehehe.... well now that you mention it...Just to give you a quick heads up on this particular topic of interest, you are engaging yourself here into possible exciting discussion with a few or more attendees if you are concerned about only driving only 450 miles, with a car that has already been on the road at least 200+ miles

We had at least 10 people last year with last minute cars who arrived after doing final construction/assembly THE DAY and NIGHT BEFORE THE COBRA BASH, and some driving upwards of 2,000+ miles to get there. I'm in complete awe of some of these people and their tenacity.

The passion of some of these people and their determinination to finish their cars, or upgrades, and drive their cars to WSCB is approaching the Sturgess level now. To me, this is one of the most exciting aspects about the WSCB people, and their focus and determination to attend - no matter the gamble.
The happy end to the story is they all made it.

Thumbs up 85 miles.....

Hi,
I swapped out my big 460 / C6 combo for a home rebuild of a '88 302 mustang engine and a brand new PA AOD with 2,400 stall, new shortened driveshaft and home made headers, etc.
I had only run it in the garage until 2 weeks before the event, then got insurance and took it for a drive. pinged badly so my new distributor was pulled and recurved, got it back 1 week to go and took some short trips around home. So we loaded up with 85 miles on her and a fresh oil change and hit the road for a 2,000 mile round trip to WSCB 06.
We blew a trans line 4 miles out of Susanville in the dark. So the 1st parts guy gave me gas line instead of hi pressure trans line. No matter ,we were on our way again thanks to a couple of great people in Susanville and made the Nugget the next morning.
Had to change the motor out with the small block and overdrive as the MRS refused to go that far with a BELLOWING big block revving in our ears,we were deaf for 2 days after last year, hehe.....
She was ever so pleased with the overdrive and 2 1/2 times the gas mileage.
Too much FUN, EH?
Perry
Hey Tim,just your loop to the east will be more than me, John, I think you are 70 miles farther than me
Hope to see you Guys there.
Perry.

Hi all, I have just sent in my registration and hope that there is still room for me. Hey Perry, I am going to drive around the block a few times on the way to Reno so I'll get that trophy from you. John

Default Western States Cobra Bash 2007 – Main Thread

Hi Gents,
I have registered today myself and my wife to arrive on Thursday and depart on Sunday. I hope a spot will open up for the track day on Friday but if not I'll be there to root you on anyway. Looking forward to being there as had to bail out last year due to business obligations.

CU there.

Is anyone going to publish a "who's comingh/registered" list anywhere as we go along? It was fun keeping up with the London show registered participants last year.

UPDATE

Hi DonC,
I do post the basic attendee list and car types online on the website each year. I hope to have it ready by mid January along with the major email communications list I send out. After I finish up on a few interesting updates being wrapped up for track day and after I get all the registered names loaded into the new software/registration database, I can post them. It was easy last year as we sold out in Mid March and this year I can't keep up, they are coming in even faster. Not a bad problem to have once I catch up.

JWheaton,

May I suggest you start a post under this forum, titled with something like "East Coasters heading to WSCB 2007?" etc etc.

Nobody further than NJ so far. Last year we had Florida, so check back in a month or so, but maybe you can pick up some others here on CC between now and then.

Default Wscb 2007 Status Update - 01/06/07

WSCB 2007 STATUS UPDATE - JANUARY 01/06/07

There have been a few changes taking place over the last two weeks and just after the holiday to address a few challenges we had to work through. One of them was Track Day selling out so fast, and seeing what could be done about adding more spots. I will be sending out a more formal email notification to all regisitered attendees ONCE I get all these registrations logged into the new database being put together now. I plan to send out a major notification by January 15th by email. We have interesting news to share about some of these changes.

Changes:

- Changes to TRACK instruction school, using RCSC instead. We had to make revisions in order to meet the specific attendee requirements needed for WSCB Track Day, and we are really excited to provide you with a few more details in the notication in a few weeks.

- Since HMSA is not doing test/tune that day, this allowed us to add just one more run group of 20 additional spots for a total of 80 cars.

- 11 people on the waiting list have since been notified to go ahead and send in their Track Day registrations. Send an email to WSCB@comcast.net if you want one of the remaining (FINAL) nine spots left. This will be it. I will reply with the required Track Day registration form on a case by case basis.

- NO EXTRA TRACK DAYS will be offered by WSCB. If you want to participate in Track Day, now's your chance to grab one of the last nine spots. Good Luck. Get Ready, Set, Go!

- John Marsey will follow up with you on your specific Track Day numbers on a case by case basis. Please be sure to check with JMarsey if you have not coordinated your number with him. It may already be reserved by someone else, please confirm with the numbers police! Hahahahaha.

- As of 1/6/07 we are somewhere around 130 total registered cars for WSCB now, and reaching 80 cars for Track Day soon. Do you think we'll reach the 200 car limit for WSCB with over 5 months to go?

- Once the registration/names database is completed, I wil post the requested attendees list on the WSCB website like last year with Name/Handle/Car/City only so you can see who is attending.

- A few more magazines have contacted us since the recent coverage came out in Kit Kar January 2007. Seems to have generated some additional interest by people who may not be members of ClubCobra.com, or FFCobra.com or GT40s.com.

The next update will the real one by email to all registered attendees. Thanks to everyone for your continuted support.

Take Care. DC
