WSCB Attendees / Quick Update:

I'll be sending out an updated email/newsletter around April 1st. The only ones who will receive it are those who are registered. Lots of little updates to share and things coming together. Until then, one important thing to note:

The WSCB hotel room block is mostly sold out all 4 nights now, and now the main hotel is completely sold out on Fri/Saturday. Attendee and vendor spots are completely full on the main Corral floor. Track Day is full. We've got plenty coming and I'm letting a few more former attendees from year1/2 trickle in but that's about it. Also, we will be sending out a pre-arrival information packet on email with a video link soon for Track Day so you can see the actual in-car filming of the track configuration in advance; it's on the website now under Track Day Info. It's going well so far. Thanks to all for your support. DC

Sell outs across the board, eh? So...a complete and utter failure.

Me thinks this is going to be the bestest yet.

Hi Folks,

Just a further note about the Track Day package Duane mentioned. We will have that assembled and to you in the early April Newsletter. Along with schedules and tech info, the package will give you a written and visual overview of what to expect both in the classroom and on the track. The video turned out very well, I thought, and will make more sense when you get the rest of the material that goes with it. Together, you will be able to prepare yourself and get familiar with the program so come Track Day morning you’ll be ready to rock! We will explain all this in the Newsletter so stay tuned!

Talk soon, John

John,
I assume this will all be in the packet, but wondering what the safety requirements are with respect to clothing, helmet, etc. This will be my first track day (everyone stay away from the gray coupe! ), so this is all new to me. Will helmets, etc. be available for rental at the track?

Hi Doug,

You will be fine. Helmets will be made available if needed. I believe there was a box to check on the Track Day Reg form including size. Make sure you let us know if not on the reg form.

Clothing should basically be shoes you are very comfortable driving the car with. I would always recommend a pair of driving shoes especially on the track. I like the Simpson shoe because they are thin soul'd and tight around the foot without a bunch of extra width. A driving shoe will give you a better feel of the pedals and foot box, and you know where the edges of your feet are. A good set of driving gloves also helps with car control and safety. Apparel can be jeans, no shorts, and a long sleeve shirt is recommended. I also like to recommend a neck brace although not required. They help to limit head movement. Once you wear one, you’ll feel naked without it.

Everything will be explained it the Packet but let us know if you have any questions. Oh yeah, prepare to have fun!

Talk soon, John

Hey Pat,

It's weird. A few weeks ago the were sold out when I called to get a room for my daughter. I called last Monday and got one. So it is hit & miss. I would call the Nugget and use the WSCB code. I know they have rooms in the “Terrace” which is across the street but connected to the Nugget. It is the East & West Tower that is maybe sold out. It’s worth calling as they do have cancellations. Keep us posted Pat. We may have some other options but I'd have to talk with Duane.

Talk soon, John

Default Try calling them and checking back every couple of days

Hey Pat. Here is the scoop. The discounted group block and the main hotel is sold out Fri/Sat, and has been for a while. I had a few extras set aside for emergencies, and those are gone now too in the group.

HOWEVER, I call every few days to check for people and a room pops open here and there in the main "Tower" where most of us stay. I just checked with my source there, and there were some open in the main hotel on Friday, but not in our block on Saturday, but a room was open on Friday again. There are rooms in the older/lower (not so great) Courtyard hotel adjacent to where we had the car show last year. If you are bringing your car, give them the access code on your WSCB registration form and they can check periodically to see. Three others have tried in the last few weeks and picked up a space from the main hotel and reservations actually honored them with our group code rate, which is great. Note, the janugget.com registration website will always show it as full now, so try calling them every few days and see if one pops open - and I think it will; Let me know. Resvervations: 1-800-648-1177.

Yeah me too Pat. Would love to see the 40 up close in person. I am in Vegas right now and will drop the Cobra off at TomsMotorspors to have the suspension gone through. Will put it to good use at the BASH!

I was wondering, I have a few family members who have expressed interest in coming to the BASH/TRACK DAY as observers. Is this possible? They'd like to come watch to see if I blow up my car on friday (I know they can't ride, heck, even the official GUEST can's ride), but can they sit in the stands and watch the activities?

And on Saturday, other than the 100 mile drive, it's pretty much just the car show during the day, correct? Can they get in to see this? I know that they'll have to fend for themselves when it comes to food etc, but can they observe?

Thanks, Ron

Ron,

Yes, absolutly your family members can come to Bash and Track Day. We will have lunch for the WSCB-Track Day participants only and limited extra for non-paying folks, maybe. So they may want to bring something. Many non-public track events are like this. You will have an opportunity to take someone out on the track during a short parade lap session.

The car show on Saturday is right in Victorian Square and open to the public. We had a big turn out last year and folks seem to really enjoy these cars. Food and drink is right inside the Nuggett for purchase.

I don't think you'll get an opportunity to blow your car up at this event.

Think positive and see you soon, John
