Default Kit Car coverage of WSCB 2006 - Jan 2007 issue

UPDATE 12/15/06:
FYI: For those of you who were asking and have not able to obtain a copy of the January 2007 issue of Kit Car Magazine to see the coverage of WSCB 2006, the related links are posted at the top of the WSCB web page now for your reference. Go to: www.WesternStatesCobraBash.com and use the two side by side buttons at the top of the page. This will take you to the Kit Car article and the 2nd button takes you to all the pictures and captions for each page. Take Care. Duane

_________________________
For any of you who attended WSCB in 2006, Kit Car Magazine did a nice little 5-page article with some great pictures of it all. Track Day coverage, 100-mile drive, and some nice photos of folks standing next to the cars in Victorian Square at the public display. Just received a copy in the mail, and hopefully they will be hitting the news stands soon. Check it out, its pretty cool, they did a nice job on it. The whole issue is really nice in fact

John, they got your JBL and Marc's Supeformance (your names) confused but the photos still look good.

Duane,

I could see how they would get us confused. We are both tall and both have cobras. Yeah, I can see that.....

I went to Barnes and Noble. They didn't have any issues in stock here on the west coast.

Default A few left at news stands here and there...

I spoke with the publishing/distribution department at Kit Car today. They told me the news stands got delivered BEFORE subscribers. I thought it was the other way around; I guess not. That explains why some stores don't have them - possibly sold out.

A few of us did find a few copies here and there at local stores up my way in Northern California. Man, that cover car sure is Nice, and the calendar in there is pretty cool too.

Big Credits and Thanks to Dan LePage for doing such a nice job getting all that stuff together for Kit Car for the January 2007 kickoff issue!

I received my copy of the magazine in the mail last Friday, great coverage for a great event, I also had trouble finding the magazine anywhere so I went ahead and subscribed some time ago.

...Yeah, the confusion has lead to a debate about whether a strung out Nascar/Yates BOSS small block winding 8,500 rpms in a JBL vs. the all aluminum Shelby FE big block in a Superformance is faster around the track. Those tall guys with heads sticking over the windshield need lots of extra power to compensate for wind resistance against the helmet visor just to get around the track. Weeeeeeeeeee!

Folks, the JBL can easily accommodate my 6'-4" frame as seen in this picture of me giving Duane
a ride at Fernley. However, JBL does offer a "booster seat" option.

Yeah, ... hunkered down in the cockpit with my feet poked through the hole in the floor like the Flinstones pedaling to try and get us to go faster!

Just a FYI. The people who subscribe to the magazine do get it later than they put it on the news stands and the ones on the West Coast where it is published seem to get it a day or so after the people on the East Coast. I just received mine three days ago. Really enjoyed the article and scenery. Great looking bunch of cars.
