Duane...take a bow.

Assolutely outstanding. You have acheived the pinnacle of the genre.

A full day at the track with experienced Cobra track jockeys, enough track time to get us to that wonderful state of happy exhaustion, a cruise through the Sierras in 70 degrees...the blue of the sky matched only by the waters of Tahoe, a happy face for everyone who approached you with a question, direction without attitude, a collection of Cobras unsurpassed anywhere, great friendly accomodations...

...and it goes on and on. You and the team sweated the details (John...bravo, my man), and it went smoothly.

You have done a good thing for all of us...and we thank you. :)

P.S. Don't even think of blaming me for the burnouts. :p

Oh, BTW, oh, as for the melted rubber and missing cement chunks topic... Did you guys see the little clear bubble hanging from the roof just as you exited the lower gate area - and guess what is inside? It aims straight onto the ramp, clear as day, all on video record since last Wednesday. Yes, every car and plate. Eight of thirty people on the list have fessed up already. Repair estimate forthcoming... We'll see what happens and if they let us back or not.

Jamo 05-21-2007 12:12 AM

...the valets did it.

cindrrrr 05-21-2007 12:00 PM

The kids and I were having wonderful Mexican food far far away from that ramp..................:3DSMILE:

decooney 05-21-2007 12:38 PM

I know. :)

thudmaster 05-21-2007 01:06 PM

I hate to say it but mine was broken most of the time and could not leave the 5th floor until Saturday morning. But if I find out my son did it I will have Jamo take care of him. He's too big for me to whip. (both of them)

cindrrrr 05-21-2007 01:12 PM

good excuse, Ed!!!!

RedCSX1 05-21-2007 01:44 PM

Duane,

I told them to stop the burn outs! But they did not listen to me.:JEKYLHYDE

decooney 05-21-2007 03:04 PM

I wish I could say no problem you guys, and I hate to ruin Jamo's tribute here to me, but just want everyone to know I spent a while on Sunday with the Nugget event Director and a few facility engineers going over issues I had with Security for one shift period and they went over the ramp surface with me. The problem is not the rolling burnouts as they can be removed to some degree, maybe we can squeek by on those with cleaning and removal. The MAJOR issue is the 4 spots where people sort of dumped the clutch from a standstill (line lock?) and tore through coating layer on top, the next layer down, right to the cement bone layer. It created 1/4" divots about 6 inches long, and you can't just patch a spot here in there. It's an area repair. John's daughter took pics and we'll send them to anyone who wants to see. i'm hoping they will just let it stay as-is.

Next year it will be a $1000 fine per incident, and the offender will be immmediately ejected and permanently banned from WSCB if someone does a burnout in the upper garage 4th and 5th floor. Remember this is their showcase for other major Corvette and Viper events now too. We've sort of claimed that place as our home for WSCB, and it now feels a bit like someone doing a burnout in my driveway at my house. Wouldn't you want to kick some ass too if someone did that in your driveway? About 20 people came up to me and said they are there behind me ready to kick some ass if it happens again in the future.

Otherwise, WSCB 2007 was another incredible gathering of great people. I'm getting so many positive comments from friends and family that came up to see it and experience it. They love WSCB now and were very impressed with the whole deal and the attedees - all you guys. I really do appreciate all of your support everyone. Just help me with this next year, okay? Please.

Have a great summer everyone!

Jamo 05-21-2007 03:13 PM

Whew! I can truthfully say I did not do a standstill burnout by dumping the clutch in the area where the black marks were, and no table cloths were damaged.

Morgan's full of sh!t. :p

You're right...we do not want to lose this place. :)

xlr8or 05-21-2007 03:18 PM

Sounds like it's time to arrange a burn out pit for the next one.

cindrrrr 05-21-2007 03:55 PM

Burn out pit!!

I hadnt realized it was surfaced with a special stuff to compensate for the snow they get up there. Glad I did my burnout on the street the week before!!

cindrrrr 05-21-2007 04:05 PM

and may I also add, in my hometown!!! Ok, I'll quit before I bury myself on this one!!:D :D

We could do an 1/8 mile (or so) drag strip on the south side of the Nugget, from the stop sign just on the west side, coming off the freeway.

Imagine Cobras racing side-by-side, right outside the hotel registration desk.

Finish line is the entrance to the parking lot.
