CH1 2009 / Early Interest inquiry?

Okay, here is the scoop on CH1 2009 right now. Regardless of the economy, questions are coming in from various sources about Cobras On Highway One (CH1), prior attendees wondering if we are planning on it again for 2009 or not, so they can lock it in on their calendar. For those who attended in 2008, it seems our little prototype was a fun, relaxing, and an enjoyable get-together and vacation for many. Many of us agreed last year we would do this again for sure, but it's always good to check in with everyone and see.

ANSWER, as of March 15, 2009:
The answer about CH1 2009 is "yes, tentatively", pending your response here and/or RSVP again on the Western States Cobra Group private meetup website . Official message to come out by May 2009 or sooner. I will send out a note on the WSCG site in a month or so to all existing members for the most up-to-date scoop. However, it's probably best to gauge some feedback first from all of you here who see and read this.

ACTION REQUIRED to GET ON THE LIST AGAIN:
Reply here if you are one of the "Definite Yes / Returning" attendees or "Yes, add me to the WSCG invite list". Also, after you reply here, just send a quick email to wscg@comcast.net saying "YES CH1 2009" in the Subject Line and I'll keep an email list going there as well to start gathering interest results.

CURRENT STATUS:
The logistics for the location and some basic cost logistics need to be worked out to attend the same location again, trailer parking, bondfire night, etc... and to hopefully block off enough rooms depending on how many returning folks we get who need rooms again. It's possible they might only give us the same number of rooms as last year which could be a problem if everyone comes back and new people want to attend and stay at the same hotel again. For anyone who attended CH1 in 2008, you'll receive first notification and room block codes first then we open it up to others here on CC.

DATES:
Probably the 3rd or 4th week in September depending on availability and cost. There are a few other parties/events to work around this year. Stay tuned. A future thread will come out about this, pending results here and on the WSCG website invite blog.

VENDORS:
Last year a few vendors asked if they could attend in 2009. The answer is maybe... we are trying to keep this informal, but it's a possibility if you just want to bring your rigs, attend, and just want to drive with us and just have some good old fashion fun. If you have something $$$ to contribute and donate to the cause, Let's talk. Maybe we can apply it to bondfire night adding you as a "bondfire night sponsor", making it more fun for all who attend. Those who attended bondfire night last year know what we mean.

NEXT STEPS:
We'll evaluate feedback here and start laying out the options and final decisions over the next 60 days.

God willing (since my cobra is yet again down with an issue) I will be there this time. Some people have actually seen my cobra running (although it broke again that night). It actually was running better than it ever had until I dropped it off for an adjustment, but it is running even better now and my engine builder says that the problem he found is just another "teething problem". Looking forward to lots of cruises once I get it back and the weather is warmer and drier.

Elaine and I are looking forward to Hy1 drive. Couldn't make it last year, and after hearing all the stories of what we missed, we must go this time. In September we will all be looking for "cool" everything! Alan

Please keep Sandy and me on the list. Traditionally, we spend Sept/Oct traveling the north coast (have been doing it for years) - that is why we missed last year. Just depends on the date selected.

Leshers (Ryan w/ Coupe, Richard w/ GT40) will absolutely be there; again no rooms needed since we are local. Bondfire is definitely a MUST!
