				 Best Drag Radial?
I have a 17' rim (sorry to the purists out there), low profile tire (Goodyear Eagle F1 currently). Backdraft racing recommeds Nitto Extreme Drag or the NT555. Are they any good? Does does anyone really know this stuff and can recommend something better?
I want some treadlife, but much more concerned about traction at launch and don't care to drive in the rain - ever . |

They are very good tires, night and day between your Goodyears.

I have the Nitto drag radials 315-35-17 and really like them. They have very good traction and would only break loose in first. I got 7,000 miles out of my first set because I tested them alot.

Mickey Thompson, and hang on. They won't last very long; but neither will the Nitto's. |

The MT's are probably the stickiest. I got 2 summers out of my last set, about 3,000 miles, and everyone knows I don't baby the tires.

Jack,Very impressive running 9's all motor. What track do you run that allows you those ET's with a single hoop bar?

I'll third the MT's. When I ran them, getting loose in 2nd gear was never an issue any longer. I just wanted the look of the GY Billboards (which, BTW, are just as sticky...even more so in the corners).

M/Ts, all the way.. I've got the 315/35/17s on my Vintage Wheel pin drives. They do hook.
I really don't give a hoot about mileage or I wouldn't be running drag radials in the first place.

I race at Norwalk Ohio.. but only on Wednesday nights, if I go at night, or when someone rents the track. They are pretty lax on Wednesday, and when the track is rented, you're on your own. That picture was actually taken at the GoodGuys event. They briefly checked the car, but were more worried about having a fire suit... go figure.
