Actually, As the ZR1's RWHP tends to be around 565 @3300 lbs = 5.84lb per HP. The 2400lb, 400 rwhp Cobra is a staight up 6lbs per HP. That alone doesn't substantiate your claim...

The ZR1/Z06 DAs were terrific. The east coast tracks (especially around the DC area) have the notoriety for great DAs, hook and times. Admittedly, with most tracks those times won't be replicated. You always "brag" about your best run, never the mediocre ones.. The ZR1's 10.79 was run by one of our local boys. I don't care what the DAs are, that's pretty darn fast for a stock vehicle w/ OEM run flats..
10.79 is pretty fast. It's just a little slower than I ran starting from a 1000 rpm idle in my Cobra with worse air. I don't want to sound like a brager. I just like this stuff for fun.

Not to be an adrenaline dork or have a little fella complex, but I'm dead certain on this topic. In fact I even like Corvettes. I've owned 1969 427 Corvette, 1976 Corvette and a 2003 Z06. My father has had 24 Corvettes.

I guess we could play with calculators and drool over magazine articles, but in the real world it's real. Other than correcting times to sea level it's hard to say with every circumstance, but given the same conditions for one car and the Cobra I've driven while between 403 to 475 rear wheel HP the highest HP Corvette I've beat from a light was a C5 stroked twin turbo with a wet shot on drag radials. He's gone 10.4 @ 147 at the drag strip and had right around 1000 HP. I also beat a 1500 HP twin turbo Viper at the drag strip while he was on street tires that trapped 152 mph for his pass behind me. I know both those guys well. Other than that the closest race I've had was a GSXR 1000 from about 20 MPH to 140 mph. He was geared for low end, power commander computer, intake and exhaust with a 200 lb rider(big guy, but dead nuts even). Other Cobra Kills, all people I know, have taken down 780 HP Porsche GT2 from roll repeatedly to 120 mph or so, Ferrari Enzo which is comical compared to the Cobra at lower speeds, Porsche GT also comical, Modified C6 Z06 with heads and exhaust, drag radial(same day at drag strip), modified 640 HP Ford GT(beat badly three times from roll), and with absolute comical kills winning against just about anything stock from standing start or low speed roll ons.
