Default E-M Cobra finally arrives!

Hey Windy City Club,

After 11 months of planning and anticipation, my Everett-Morrison kit (well, most of it) has arrived. Check out my build site and feel free to stop by and give me a hand sometime!

Thanks, Mark

Hi Mark,
Glad to hear of another E-M builder out there. The pics look great; you're lucky to have had all that help unloading, imagine doing it all alone! You will be very pleased with the final product, I'm sure.
I have just about finished my chassis build-out and will have the body home from the factory soon to work in the engine compartment. I chose the 392cid Ford crate motor and hooked it up to a Richmond 5 spd and the same Corvette gear you will be using. I am wiring up a temp engine panel so I can start this beast before setting the finished body onto the chassis. This Corvette suspension will work great and we'll both be glad we chose it.
Since I drive over to E-M all the time (45 min for me) let me know if I can help you with anything there. Good luck! Ron

Thanks Ron,

I'll need all the luck I can get! And towards your offer, next time you are at the E-M facility, see if you can shake down Brett and get my assembly manual... they sent all of phase 1 but no instructions. I'm tempted to just start bolting away, but I'll guess I'll wait another few days.

I'm pretty excited to test out this suspension and I hope it’s all its cracked up to be. Actually, I asked E-M to work with Pro Shock to integrate a heavier spring in the front. I talked to some other owners who experienced some clearance issues with the stock setup and a big block. The results should be interesting to say the least.

Do you have any pictures of your project (or anyone else for that matter)?

Mark

Mark,
The E-M manual is so out of date, its practically useless. It can get very confusing when the instructions say brake lines on drivers side, fuel lines on passenger side, but they are all bent to be on the drivers side. You'll put the batt cables on passenger side and brake / fuel on drivers. Use caution with the manual when you get it, most references have been changed. Brett is a great help on each step but says they are hopelessly behind on the manual revisions.
As far as the front spring is concered, work with Vette Brakes & Products in St. Pete for suspension questions. Check them out on line at www.vettebrakes.com or 800-237-9991. That's where E-M gets their stuff.
I'll ask Brett about your manual & try to post a pic of my project ASAP. Have fun!! Ron
