Default I think I'm on my way...

Well I've been dreaming about these cars since I was in high school over 20 years ago. I think I'm ready to take on a project though, I don't know that I just want to buy one.

My brother and I are thinking of going to the Mott school in Sept for building the FFRs. Now that the Mk4 is out and the perky butt seems to be gone, this could be my time. Going to enjoy my camaro one more summer and hopefully sell it and start funding this new project

If anyone is in the Chicago area and doing a build, I'd really appreciate seeing it. I ran into some of the guys last year at Fuddruckers on Golf when you had one of your meetings there, but all those cars are finished

any advice/tips would be greatly appreciated!

hi - camaro is a lt1 w/a built t56. the motor with the old cam was making 360 to the wheels and with the new cam shooting for closer to 400. so about 480-500 at the crank i'm shooting for. it's a 355 shortblock with forged pistons and 4 bolt splayed caps. I'm also running the LS1 computer with it too, had to redo my wiring harness to make it all work. Getting ready to piece it all together and drop the motor back in the next few weeks. I want to enjoy the camaro one more year if i can.

Hi merim! Glad you made the trip from ffcars! There are a couple active builds in the area, and a number of FFR cars in all different levels of builds. I'm a bit longer than an hour from downtown, but the good driving is right outside my door! Give me a shout...we'll work something out!

thanks guys! I've gotten some PM's too so I'll be reaching out. I did go down to Glen Ellyn to see how I fit in a Superformance car. this was from last summer. I'm 6'3" about 245-255 so it's a little tight for comfort.

pics a bit fuzzy, my buddy took it on his phone...

I'm working on my 20 year itch. Superformance is out, I'm too tall. I started researching again. Don't think I want an FFR. the JBL looked like the right ticket, but doesn't look like it is being built anymore. not sure I care about correct as I do comfortable. I'm going to try to make the Sept 10th event down the street at Harper and see what i can see from the group here that can go. I'm curious how the rest of the tall folks are in terms of chassis selection.

I sold my 2008 z06 two years ago, so thinking it's time to see if I can rekindle this flame.

There are simple modifications to the seat mounting that would make a Superformance more roomy for you. I have mine modified. Feel free to email me as I am in the area.

I'm 6'2" and have no issue fitting in my Superformance. The seat was mounted to the floor by the prior owner who was my same height.
