Where have all the Cobra's been?
Over this weekend, I went to a couple of good cruise-in's. On Friday night, I went to Roselle and found a nice mix of about 100 cars on Main street. I found one Cobra owner there with his red roadster. On Saturday, I found another cruise (aprx 100 cars) in Elk Grove Village but no Cobra's. Do any of you owners regularly attend a cruise and if so, where? Both of these locations had music and food nearby. The Roselle location had a live oldies band. |

Cary has a cruise on Wednesdays, and there's always a couple roadsters there. Barrington is a good one too, and it's Thursdays. |

As I have found out over the years, a large number of cobra owners rarely drive their cars anywhere.

				 London Cobra Show
Just go to the London Cobra Show and you will be in the company of 100's of Cobras. At least once a year.
Do it at least once and the experience will last you a lifetime.

Most of us would rather drive our "Fun Cars" than sit for hours to show them!

CSX 2367 will be at the Keeneland Concours July 18-21 near Lexington KY. Main show on Saturday. We have friends who have taken various cars to this show in previous years and say its a very enjoyable event, so several of us are taking various sports cars. Reliable is transporting the Cobra, so Lori and I can drive the 71 Mercedes, which is a 4 place convertible, to drive with friends on the "Bourbon Tour" on Thursday... Dave & Lori.

Ralph (130miles Saturday) | I would tend to agree with the above. When it comes to driving Cobras it is usually when little to no traffic exists and on less traveled country roads.

However the value is something to consider. Having inherited and growing up with literally hundreds of autos ownership is a private thing. I'm not like my grandfather opening his estate and having car guys show up once a month during the summer. Before Cunningham moved out of Green Farms he use to show up with some of his cars along with Chinetti who was a regular visitor since he was local in Greenwich.

I found out in recent years there are cars unknown to many but the purist or those that grew up with them. There are several generations of nintendo/xbox/playstation players that only see pictures of certain cars if that!

I had a thread that was closed and basically asked if original owners of CsX 2000 and 3000 cobras were annoyed if asked if it was an original. I would like to add recently I drove a Byers SR100(ON A TRAILOR) to a gathering in California and was asked was it original. and I asked original what? And the man answered Cobra. One of my 10 year old twin girls shouted out. Dude that's an original Byers 100!!! So a history lesson took place.

If the cars are not driven they will be a lost to generations. Museums only go so far.

I don't have a pic but this is one of my favorite articles. Does this look like a Cobra!!

OR, I absolutely see why it could be mistaken for a 289 Cobra, if you do a quick "looky-looky."
Especially those who ask, "What year Vette is that?"

				 Keeneland Concours
 dwathencars
Please stop by and visit with us at the Cobra Paddock at the Keeneland Concours d'Elegance. We will have anywhere between 16-25 Cobras there. I assume your car will be in the judged category.

Looking forward to seeing you there.

 | DAMMMM!
Chris, please call me next time you're out cruising. I had planned to go but a buddy showed up at 4 pm to change a rear rear shock on an older Mitsubishi Galant. Well, it's 11pm, I just walked into the house and his car is still on the rack. Tomorrow night is Cruise night in Barrington, I'll go if somebody else goes!

Maybe we can get some other locos to go, like Wolfie, who lives close by.
Blas, I'm surprised you're going, I thought the distance would be beyond the legal range of your ankle bracelet!

I love driving my car on cruises or to car shows. But this year, not only have I been working evening shifts, but we've been so focused on getting the car ready for Superfest in Colorado, that I haven't gotten out much this year.
