				 Cobra hauler/trailer?
 Hey WCCC,
The HEMI roared to life week. Too bad I had to hear it on speakerphone from Gessford's in Nebraska...

Way more pictures here: http://www.gessford.com/cobraparts/i...arkshemiEM.htm
Anyway, I am having another kid in less than 2 weeks, but sometime in the next few months I need to go pick up my ride. Any one in the WCCC have a car hauler/trailer they would be willing to loan me for the trek? 1 7/8" ball or pintle hook hitches will work on my truck. If not, any suggestions on companies that will rent them or even do it for me? Last time I did a one way UHAUL, which I can always do again as a last resort.

Thanks, Mark |

Mark, It looks like you went with coil-overs in front, did you modify the upper shock mount?

Hey GS, thanks for the suggestion... I think that may be the way to go - I'll have my hands full here.
Scott - actually Brett @ E-M did all the modifications before he sent the frame. The front coil-overs are custom 600lb springs by Pro-Shock. Here is a better shot:

Mark,When I ordered my car I tried to get Brett to do a coil-over suspension but they didn't want to get into it at the time (1999).
In 2000 I ordered a second chassis and gave Brett drawings of changes I needed in the design to use coil-overs. I had him make the shock tower taller to use a 13.3" Proshock. For the lower mount I used a billet aluminum, bolt-on mount. What length shock did he use on yours? Did you uses the aluminum lower mount? How about in the rear, coil-overs too?

 Your car looks good.

 Scott
That motor looks pretty good and at least it is not a Chevy. Nothing wrong with Chevies except they are used so much in street rods and kit cars that they are boring. Now a Hemi you do not see everyday.

I like the way you did your front coilover conversion of the corvette suspension. I have a Hunter Cobra and Randy does his really similar

GS - nope not home yet... just had another baby, so things are pretty crazy around here. I'll start planning the trip out to NE in April. If not, I guess I'll contact the transport service. Hope to see you guys soon at a meeting. |
