Default 11.89

Made 3 passes at VMP. Concrete starting pad worn smooth, traction sucked.
First time for me on a dragstrip in 20 years!

First pass was 11.89 at 116, left just above idle, granny shifted, pedaled it thru 1'st and 2'nd, got on it in third, then missed the 3-4 shift. Not a good pass at all.

Changed lanes and made two more passes, but traction even worse. Both in low 12's. Then lost the clutch slave cylinder and went home.

One day I'll give it another try. I'm still curious.
I'd be willing to bet she'd run 10's with slicks, but I'm not into drag racing enough to buy a set.

Later,

Sniff, Sniff... Well before I sold my car. I clicked off several 11.94's at 118. Superformance w/ 486 hp Ford Crate Motor. 3.55 Gears. 275/60/15 Yokohama Avids got great traction. Although I had to baby it a bit at the launch , I was running 60 ft times in the 1.6 second range. Ate a Viper along the way

I am running 285-40-17's on 17x 9.5 inch wheels on the back. I was getting consistent 1.7 second 60 foot times on the 11.8 runs. The car hooked extremely well leaving just off idle and rolling into the throttle. The trick with street tires is not to 'shock' the tire by dumping the clutch at higher rpms. The soft side wall on a slick is designed to cushion the shock but street tires will just break loose. I also had to soften the shift from 1st to 2nd as if I shifted hard it would spin and kick the rear end sideways. I still need more practice and to play with tire pressure a little to get the most out my combination.

Default 8.34 @ 160

My car is street legal right down to the tires. I use Mickey Thompson ET street's. They have been fine so far. Launch at 5,500 rpm, 1.25 60's with one stage of nitrous going. Those times were with my old 460. I haven't had a full pass with both stages of nitrous going yet, but this 598 is 7 tenths quicker than the old one straight up. I can't wait till spring.
