Default ERA 482 Running at last!!

Fired the engine on the ERA today after work. Cranked right up and ran on all 8. Sounds better than I had hoped. The 428 definently has the big block Idle. Letting it cool down and then checking for any leaks. Next step is a cruise around the block to test the drive line. With a little luck I can have it licensed in the next week!

Ron:

Congratulations!

The first time a big block motor fires up (particularly if you've been the one searching for TDC for awhile and you've never done it before), usually at night after a long day getting ready, the sound cuts right through to your shorts. There is nothing quite like it.

Pictures?

Jim

There is nothing like the sound of a healthy FE.It is a sound that you will crave for life.I've got one that sets off car alarms, and annoys the ignorant. It makes my neighbors Hemi(the REAL one 426 cu in,not the new made in mexco wannabe) sound tame..........enjoy.

Congratulations are definately in order. The feeling you get the first time you start an engine that you have been working on - is like no other.
Satisfication is the only word that comes to mind. If you are lucky enough to have someone with you and the noise scares the crap out of them--- well, so much the better.
Again, CONGRATULATIONS.

Rich Musson

Ron, you are in Plainfield - are you going to come to the Snake & Eggs this Saturday? It is in Naperville (@ Rt59 & 88) -- please do not feel you need a car to attend. Heck you might even get a few people to come back and take pictures of that first Go Kart Ride!

Hope to see you Saturday,

Rich

Rich, I do plan to make the breakfast on Saturday. All of the club members are welcome to come to the house afterwards to check out the cobra. I am not far From Bills place in Naperville. ( 1 mile west of rt 59 on Caton farm. ) See you at S&E 10.

That's wonderful - I am really glad you can make it.

Suggestion-- you could add an the invatition to the Snake & Eggs post - it might encourage others to join in.
I have a feeling that members, still in the build stage, are a little hesistant to come to these types of events. Really EVERYONE is more than welcome.
See, I am a recent graduate (Class of July, 2004) and I know how it is. You feel a little out of place. But once you are around the members a little bit you realize how welcome everyone makes you feel.

See you tomorrow
Rich
