Default S&E 8? - Saturday 5/28 Shelby Show

Snake and Eggs #8 is scheduled for this Saturday, May 28th prior to the Shelby show at Volo. We plan on meeting at the Omega Restaurant which is on the northwest corner of Rand Road (Rt. 12) and Half Day Rd. (Rt. 22) in Lake Zurich between 7:45 - 8:00a.m. We need to leave the restaurant by 9:15 or so as we are being asked to show up at Volo around 9:30 to secure club parking.
I've secured parking at the restaurant for 20 cars and have notified them we would number about 30 patrons. I would appreciate a reply to this thread from those of you that plan on attending the breakfast and if you are bringing a guest so I can keep the restaurant staff informed.
Weather looks cool but at least dry at this point so hopefully we'll luck out and have a great day!

Blas
If I get my car back together I will make breakfast. If not, I am not too sure I will make it to Volo at all.

Rich,

To paraphrase Blas: What's up with your car?

Do you need any help?

Frank,

What's your route? Maybe we can connect enroute...
I'll be Kennedy towards Rockford, 53 to the north end and hop over to 12... I'm open to discussion.

DM,

Thought we could meet the at Menards located in the shoping center just East of Barrington Road on route 72, Higgins, in Hoffman Estates. (Same location as the locat Monday Night Car Show. It's about two minutes South of the Northwest Toll Road and you can exit Southbound at Barrington Road.)

Figure we could meet at 7:00AM, leaving at 7:15AM for breakfast.

Guys,
Thanks for the concern.

Okay, here's what happened to my car..........
Well, no it was more like... a... a...
If I had to explain it I would say..........
So what I think is……….
The truth of the matter is -- I am really fricken S-T-U-P-I-D.
There is no way I should have started a repair like this in the middle of the driving season. I should wait till December.

I decided to work on my pinion angle issue.
So, I started loosening rear end connections. I disconnected the lower control arms completely. I was turning the upper control arms to change the angle. Before I knew it I had the entire rear end disconnected or loose. That's when happened. That's when I broke the upper control arm.
Y’all know how it is – you use really large wrenches so you have a large lever and all kinds of torque.
Well before I knew what happened the car is in parts in the garage and I broke one of the required parts get it back together.
So, now I am trying to get a machine shop to fashion the required part. Getting a new one from Auto Weld will take awhile.
Like I said I am S-T-U-P-I-D.

Dave,

Currently, it just us meeting Saturday morning. But anyone who wants to caravan is welcome to join us. (Even Red or Blue car owners.)

Just respond to the thread to let us know and we'll wait for them.

Sid,
You can un-invite me all you want. I am coming anyway. However, you realize I am just going to sit in the passenger seat and drink beer. You know, like my mentor.

As for my car - I did have the part I broke repaired. So I should be able to get it back together tonight - if I can remember how it all fits.
Okay, so it leftie tightie - I'll be alright.

Rich

I'll be leaving Sterling about 0500 to meet you guys and gals for breakfast. Maybe I could leave my truck at the restaurant and hitch a ride to the show if anybody's planning to head back that way afterward?

See ya then.

Lowell
