Why doesn't someone who attended write a little piece about this event and submit it to the WCCC website for posting?
Event participants, times, did some vetts show up & the results...who ran out of gas.....etc.

1st run.............. 12.275
2nd run............. 12.249
Only ran two runs but was improving! A couple of more runs should be able to get in the 11's? Also ran against Arcenio beat him off the line reached the end befor hid did and his time was better?? Is Byron providing the correct times, I believe we need to run again to make sure.
Buy the way, a Blue car took the honors with 11.51.

The top five I think-
Blue - Al from Sycamore ( by the way - not on current membership list - Maybe his prize should have been a membership)
RED - MM (previous big dog - now relagated to also ran)
Blue - Chris - slipped from second to third
Blue - Shelby - finally hooked up the Viper
Yellow - Malmen - Next time look out Yellow is the new power color.
Where are my red buddies? Will have to say it took an additional 167 c.i. to overcome the small block.
Michael

1st run was 12.3
2nd run was 12.1
3rd run was 12.7 (trying to get more out of the street tires)
4th run was not worth stopping for
Worth noting: I am pretty sure that Al's 11.5 run was on street tires.
I also want to thank Jerry and Corey for their support. I know they love this stuff, but their tech advice was appreciated. I am looking forward to seeing those pictures from Mrs. Clayton. Can you imagine what that poor lady goes through keeping those two in line?

I improved a little also.
Not enough power to hang with the big dogs though
11.78 @ 114.7mph
1.57 60' time
Had a 1.56 60' time but missed third gear on that run.
Many runs at 11.8_ during the day also.
60' consistently in the 1.56-1.65 range.
Congrats to Shelby joining the 11 sec. club
Next is the tens..................

Awesome 60' times Chris. Us older guys are a little slower on the hammer. Well actually Mike had a reaction time of .095. Wow
Arcenio, my best time for the day was 12.103.

Slow Snake
OK, I have to chime in here with the least amount of HP on a close-to-stock 351ci engine and a virgin tracker, I need to drop 1.8 seconds to get into the 11.5 club. I figure a make-over with aluminum heads, big cam, new carb, set of pistons, new tires, etc. probably in the vicinity of 5 to 6 grand would do it.
By the time that gets done you guys will be in the 10 second club and 6 grand will buy about 500 cases of beer, guess where my priorities lie?
Thanks to Jerry's advice after my virgin run, I bettered my 2nd run by almost a second and increased the speed by 3 mph.
Ralph the slow poke -13.3 @104.66

Ralph, Call Jerry or Corey about a nos setup. You can easily get 100hp or even 150hp for way less than any mechanical method and you only run it when you want it. Big boost to your hp and still get 400 cases of beer! Now that's the best of both worlds.

Oh Ralph, get this. You could even have a pair of purge valves at the radiator intake so when you purge the nos it looks like a cobra shooting venon at it's victim.

Add 5 lbs of air to your tires....
Premium gasoline ( NOT Speedway's regular grade)
Loose 40 pounds....
Take cooler of beer out of trunk...
Wax the front on the car...and the top of you helmet...
and disengage the emergency brake next time.....
and you'll have an easy 2 seconds...

Slow poke?
Ralph consider this;
you are still as fast as a stock
vette or Z28 off the show room floor!

Sunday was a blast --- did not know what to expect from the snake, first time on the track(won't be the last!!!) and I have not taken a car the track since the 80's-----very happy overall just need to be more consistant
street tires 275/60R15 BFG TA
1st run 11.827@106.74mph
2nd run 13.237@111.20mph
3rd run 15.683@54.14mph
4th run 12.127@111.62mph
5th run 11.514@118.45mph
6th run 11.649@109.89mph
1st OK took easy-gain confidence(car & self)--2nd smoked tires off line and in second --3rd hooked up good and clutch sliped in second and third burnt clutch smoke came from under car coasted to end -- 4th see what happens all seems OK just make sure clutch is grabbing before punching gas-- 5th felt good, tires sliped in third -- 6th felt good, tires sliped in third earlier than last run
Things for next time carb tuning and be consistant, maybe drag radials
