I believe it's the Spring Grove Family Restaurant, on Rt 72 west side of Genoa, south side of street, just before 72 goes under RR tracks.

Don't intend to hijack the thread but since we're talkin' about this weekend...Is anybody planning to drive up to Road America for the vintage races Saturday or Sunday? Turns out Saturday is the only day Ken (Sandy) and I could get together to go up there.

Lowell, are you driving the Cobra to RA? I wouldn't mind going Sunday but the forecast in our area is not good at this time, ie. T-storms. Maybe nice in the cheese state. (Yetiman, take lots of pics of the historic races and cars please. )
Since you hijacked this thread, just wanted to mention that there are a few car shows going on in our area. Huntley has a fest including a car show and Heritage Fest with a car show in Dundee also. The weather may be a factor after Saturday, however.

Ralph,
I'll be taking the Cobra and staying at my friend's place in southern Wisconsin tonight so we can head up to Elkhart Lake early tomorrow morning, then back in the evening, hopefully in time to avoid the rain.

Lowell,
We'd be joining you at Vintage Fest this weekend but we have family business Saturday. I was hoping to do the Road Course Tour Saturday morning in my Cobra. (Drive with vinatage sports cars, retracing the original Elkhart Race course on Elkhart Lake roads. It's what Road America was based on /designed to replace.)
But family buinees and the fact that I haven;t seen my Cobra since spring means no go.
Have a great time! I'd love to hear about it later.

I know you guys will now have a chance to get a trophy since I won't be coming to this event due to a wedding. What time are you all going to breakfast? Maybe I'll drive up for that....

Hi guys,
Joe and I are planning to meet everyone for coffee only before 8:00AM but know everyone is anxious to be at Bryon by 9:00AM. So leave without us if we're not at the restaurant by 8:00AM and we'll meet you at the track.

Well guys that was fun!
At first I was very nervous with the butterflies in my stomach being that I was a virgin at the track. My first few runs I kept screwing up shifting by hitting 5th gear instead of 3rd. Boy those rpm's really drop off The last run was much better. Like every thing else in sports, practice, practice and more practice will improve your score.
OK, I'll be the first to post my official best time,
12.208 seconds at 113.85 mph
All in all it was a great day, the weather was perfect, good friends, the smell of burning rubber in the morning, and a nice drive in the country there and back with the car in one piece.
Who else wants to post their numbers? Who officially won the trophie?
Mark

Mark's car don't have no paint--what color does it count as?
Big head wind all day--I spent some time in the tower talking to Ron Leek, they had over 400 cars running--recent poor weather and the end of the season(2nd week of Nov) coming had everybody out to run there stuffBig wheelstand contest coming up in a couple of weeks--this is something to see if you never been there
Track has some of the best burgers and brats anywhere
Gettin anxious to get my stuff together to go dragging but I'm torn between the Cobra and the other car

We can tell, Jerry, you spent most of the time in front of that food stand!
No wonder Mark didn't get into to 11's, you didn't give him advice what comes after 2nd!
Although, Laura being a math teacher, ya wudda thunk that she would have given Mark a little lesson in numbers.

It seems the afternoon turned around for Eric after a visit from Dr. Clayton.
Shelby ran an 11.8 on his last run that day.
I could only muster a 12.8.
