WCCC Drag Day Spring 2008 Byron Raceway

*********Update**********
Drag Day will Be May 10th

Thought we should start a clean, new thread for this one!!

Come one, Come all..............

Maybe we could get some other Clubs or cobras to join in on the fun!!!!
Indiana, Wisconsin, Iowa, Michigan? Any others, Let's see who will make the long haul.

Ok, What do you guys think for a date for the drag day?

I thought Warren was running this event, but He hasn't spoken up in weeks, Must still be mad at Sid. ;)

Saturday April 26th is Jr. Dragster and High School Day
Sunday April 27th is a Test and Tune Day

Saturday May 3rd is Test and tune day.

There are also a couple of test and tune days in may, But we have 3 or so other events to squeeze into that month.

Here is the full schedule, lets get some input from the folks who would like to participate.

http://www.byrondragway.com/Schedule.html

After that starts all the events and bracket racing= very busy, not too many runs.

Who's going?

What date is your preference? And no, I don't mean male or female

mdmull 04-02-2008 05:15 PM

I say pick the day that the weather will be mid 60s, sunny, light winds, low humidity. I want to see those V-6 Turbos run in the 11s.

Just had to start throwin' down right out of the chutes, didn't ya?

This place is great..........................

LRRCobradreamer 04-02-2008 08:39 PM

I can make it any weekend but the 10th and 11th of May. I may only watch so you should not set the date for me, but would like to be there and see the Blue Cobras win.

Lee.

CHRIS DAMSCH 04-02-2008 09:17 PM

That a boy Lee,

Now I know why you got a blue car.

jeffko 04-02-2008 10:15 PM

Mike I think you mean to say strong tail winds in the right lane where they seem to always run. Otherwise, Arcy and John will have to be there the night before taking out a few light bulbs.

CHRIS DAMSCH 04-03-2008 03:42 PM

May 11th is Mothers Day. Probably not a good idea

RedSnake351 04-03-2008 08:46 PM

Come on, you Mothers!

I got a blue car and it's reel fast....144hp and I bet it will go faster than 14.2. I have never drag raced before...do you have any tips for me, Chris?
Can I bring a male friend?

Steno 04-09-2008 09:31 AM

There's a guy that lives near me that has a chassis dyno in Byron. If we get a date, we may be able to arange some dyno pulls at the same time!Wutdoyathink ?

If you are talking about Corey Simpson in Stillman Valley, I think zoning shut him down.
We have two shops in StCharles we work with and could probably get a package/club deal---one of them is a all wheel drive dyno so 4x or front drivers can be checked---also motorcycles

EMK 04-13-2008 04:04 PM

I think I'm ready to unleash the new beast on everyone! Only one person knows what I've done, but he has probably flapped his yap already. Let's race!

CHRIS DAMSCH 04-13-2008 06:37 PM

Doesn't sound like many people plan on going?

Can we get a yes or no response to this thread?

If there is no interest, we can just cancel the event.

The one or two people who want to go can just make there own plans then.

Maybe this Sunday?

Blas 04-13-2008 07:01 PM

I don't think everyone has their car out yet due to the weather. And probably best to drive then a bit before hitting the track I would think...

mdmull 04-13-2008 07:26 PM

May 3 is my vote, or the 10th - avoids mothers day & on the 10th there will be corvettes to embarrass. St Charles North HS car show is the 17th, so if it's that day the other red cars will need to handle the task of beating the blue cars into humiliating submission.

Steno 04-14-2008 07:32 AM

May is good for me!
Sten

CHRIS DAMSCH 04-14-2008 02:59 PM

Alright!!!

Let's set it up for the 10th. I'd like to see what some of those tricked out corvettes are running.

May 10th it is.

So, Now that there is a date.

Who's going to be able to show up and run or root the runners on?

TurboVenom 04-14-2008 05:41 PM

yeah, I think I'll bite. Don't mind making a few passes.

mdmull 04-14-2008 08:47 PM

ME makes Three

CHRIS DAMSCH 04-14-2008 08:57 PM

Warren, the event coordinator is going to be out of town.

Sid scared him with his driving skills.
