Default Volo Shelby/Cobra/Mustang Show - June 14

For you that may have missed my all my post on WCCC web site - - -

This years show is going to be a big one. Victor Ford will host a booth with new Shelby Mustangs. You can choose to show on not show your car for trophy's. The cost will be $20 a car with full access to Volos museum,, etc. The proceeds from this show will be to support Toys for Tots so its tax deductible.

The plan for Volo on June 7th is for all of us to meet at White Alps at 9 am for
breakfast. Then we'll leave there at 9:50 and convoy to Volo. White Alps is
located on Route 22 just about 2 store east of Route 12, so you might say its on
the northeast corner of Routes 22 &12.

If you missed pre-registration and would like to go, let me know and I'll get
your name on a list of those attending.

So far we have the following folks attending, - -

Warren
Eric
Mark K
Mark T
Ralph
Darryl
Bob M
John S
Blas

Please note that there is NO VICTOR FORD SHOW this year, the Volo show is it. Victor Ford is attending the Volo show.
Thanks, Warren

I'll go. But I can't come to breakfast.

What happened to the Victor show?

Default Victor Ford Cancelled Due to Finances

Cdog, As you know Ford is hurting so they cancelled the Victor Ford Show for this year due to finances.
This event is it! and Warren has been doing a great job of rallying the Windy City Cobra Club Members to attend!
Come on out for probably the only Shelby related show event of the summer in Chicagoland. Your entry fee to the show includes two tickets to the Volo Auto Museum (value $22) provided the people attending the event are either driving or riding in your car at the time of check-in. A rain date of June 14th is planned and the entry fee is refundable if something comes up.
We are expecting upwards of 120 cars if the weather holds out with show cars attending from Iowa, Michigan, Indiana, Ohio and Wisconsin!
The current long range weather forecast is calling for partly sunny skies with a high temperature of 70 degrees!
This is 'the event' of the summer so don't miss it! StangSteve-Show Director

Default I am a definite maybe.

If I can go (code for: if the wife let's me) I would be leaving around 11a.m. after church (yes - I go to church). I also may bring a neighbor who I am helping rebuild a '69 Mustang. By helping I mean I give him the tools he asks for and hold things still so he can work on them since I am pretty much useless when it comes to fixing cars.

I got an email that says the show is being moved to the following weekend because of the strong possibility of rain.......

"Shelby Show Postponed"
The 6th Annual Shelby/Cobra/Mustang show date has been changed from Sunday June 7, to Sunday June 14, due to the rain. Volo Auto Museum and your host Steve Maglich promise an even bigger and better show next weekend. So mark your calendars now!! Check our website for up to date information. Please visit www.volocars.com

Facts:
Car shows on the West Coast have only a 10 percent chance of rain. The Midwest has a 50% chance of rain. That makes it very difficult for car shows in the Midwest. We hope that you can make it to our new date and tell your friends!!
Thank you.
Greg Grams
President

Default Bad Weather & Wet Grounds

Hi Blas & WCCC Members, Yes, if you can pass the word, we did have to move the show to Sunday June 14th. The weather forecast was just too questionable and the grounds from Saturday June 6th would be soaked for Sunday so we would be looking at alot of mud and grass everywhere.
Greg Grams, owner of Volo even said, "No way that any of the open-top Cobras would even think of coming out for the show!" So we partially did it on behalf of your club since you are the featured club of our show.
If any of you want to still pre-register for June 14th, send your information and fee through to me. My address is on the show flier or you can e-mail me at magbond65@hotmail.com. The fee for alll WCCC members is $15.
If you have already pre-registered and paid and can 'not' make it June 14th, contact me and I will refund your registration fee. All registration fees, even for the 14th are refundable for weather or any other reason you can't attend.
Sorry for the rain delay but we look forward to having your club out in big numbers on June 14th. We are going to have a couple of surprise rare Shelby cars at the show. Thanks, Show Coordinator-Stang Steve

Default Newbie interested in WCCC membership

I'm interested in becoming a member of WCCC. I have a recently completed building a Unique Motorcars 1965 cobra replica. I'm also interested in attending the Volo event this Sunday. Can I just pre-register for the event, and discuss WCCC membership with someone when I arrive at Volo? Is it ok to bring my cobra to Volo?

Dick,
The Volo event is open to everyone, and you can register at the gate...As to joining the WCCC...just tape a $1000 bill to your windshield while parked at Volo and we'll see to it that you get hooked up....hahaha...just ask a WCCC member to point you to a club director....

Thanks for the info Blas. I've run out of $1000 bills. They've all been spent on my cobra. I hope to meet you and others from the club on Sunday.
