My side pipes were bolted rigidly to the frame..... recently after a whimsical (blast off lift off) I managed to cause stress fractures TORQUE INDUCED in the side pipes ... lesson learned.. 1/2" of sheet rubber between the frame and the bracket should stop metal failure. I took the side pipe to a welder who specialised in tuna towers. Good luck... dbaker@hotmail.com
