Good morning!
The car arrived in south-africa in 1987 or 1989 and was meant to be used to introduce CCX to the Country. Cost then was 3-times as much as for a locally built replica (not Superformance, they didn't build cars yet). Apparently the original owner also had one of two original cars down here, but moved to Canada.
I bought it in may 2002 while it was partially restored and converted to floor mounted pedals.
Unfortunately the 427SO threw a rod and I the towel... :-(
It went to Germany in 2004 or 2005 and apparently got a 400M FORD with automatic now.
Quite embarassing, if true.
Before it left, I took a mould from the body to copy the car down here. We are currently busy with one based on a CSX chassis (from CR prints). The trunk tub (spare wheel insert) as well as the rear section of the main tub is a copy from a CSX4000 which was meant to be built in Cape Town in 2003.
Time is running fast when you are having fun...
