This Cobra used to belong to a friend of mine. Fifteen years after he sold it, we found out it had been stolen and re-numbered (before he bought it). The police confiscated it, and returned it to the guy it was stolen from in 1971.

There was a write-up in AutoWeek on it (5/25/92). In the AutoWeek picture, my wife Diane is "reeling in" the Rainbow Trout Cobra with a fishing pole I just happened to have with me that day. Cobrajeff

This car is really CSX2530. When my friend bought it, it had a tag, title, and paperwork as CSX2532 - nothing suspicious.

The problem did not appear until years later when the car was totally disassembled for a complete restoration. That's when the number CSX2530 was discovered in some locations on the car.
