I think the biggest tragedy about these Cobra cars is the creator, Carroll Shelby died and there is no bloodline to carry on the Cobra legacy. SAI needs a real Shelby figurehead (son or daughter), not more licensed dealers. Spending big $$$ on a hobby demands more than good faith and reputation(when the reputation is suspect).

maybe I should listen to wifey, "Just buy a damn corvette and be done with this madness," as she looks at HD Buttercup and calls Ikea furniture "fakes."
The biggest tradegy is that you haven't bought a Corvette yet. At this point, I think CC members should take up a collection and buy you that Corvette, just to get rid of you.

Need I remind you that you have called the Cobra's that we enjoy and love "hot rods shaped like Cobra's," or that "no Cobra should be more than $50K," and they're "not worth a wait of more than 6 months."

You've given us such wonderful threads like:

"Do you worry about parking your Cobra?", "CS and the leftover frames saga" or "Do owners budget gas costs in ownership or it is simply part of the Cobra experience to spend big $$$ at every gas stop?"

And then there's the warm and fuzzy posts such as:

"typical old guy response, very donald sterling",

"my daddy always said the boys in the suburbs can get down & dirty"

"Your kit car isn't more complicated than a modern car"

"I would compare the 'side pipe' look to modern import car guys putting cartoon-like rear wings and racing/parts stickers on their street cars. It just screams 'race boy'"

"The side pipes became popular in the 1980s because buyers of hot rods shaped like a Cobra wanted the 'race' look. The side pipes do nothing more than burn your legs and disturb the peace."

Yep, this forum is indeed the world's largest _____(u fill in the blank). And thank you for joining us and making our ranks grow stronger.

P.S. I'll ignore the "What are we teaching our children when we open the garage door?" remark.
