Do you have your car registered as a 1965, 1966 etc..? Lots of owners do but don't technically own a "Cobra" of any year.

Also, accurately you dont own a Cobra either and should so state.

Just say'n.
You own a replica of the original....

According to the Websters definition, true. No problem there. Absolutely. It would have to be in order to be a Continuation Shelby Cobra. Axiomatic.

Do you want to use Websters definitions? If so, However, we'll do that right across the board. You won't like it very much though. Just let me know. There are quite a few terms that apply to your car and "replica" ain't one of them.

The dictionary I use states "any close copy...."

"Close" is relative and I think most Cobra replicas fit that definition.

I'm not talking about the unabridged Walgreens pocket version you use.

The Registry nails it at page 30 and 308. Stop confusing yourself.

So my car is a copy of itself????

Does anyone know if the cars in the Gumball movie were actually driven across the country as portrayed or where they shipped from site to site?

Evan,

I have did a lot of looking and so far I have only found things that would tend to make me think they were actually driven across the country. Nothing that actually states one way or the other. But I liked the movie so much I did a lot of reading on the people and cars in it. I did find one article that said most of the shooting was done in New York, Arizona, and Los Angles where the race ended. If anyone has a reference that tells for sure I too would like to know.

Ron

I forget where I read it, but I believe the movie was mainly shot in California with a few scenes shot in the New York City area. Cali stood in for most of the other states they "drive through."

Amateur, the movie was a first of it's kind, shot at real speed, and on location(s) across the US, not just NY, NJ, and California (some shots are from the Hollywood sound studio, but that was for the Vette being broken in half, and two other short shots of the van filled with gasoline, both used as filler after the main shooting was over. When I'm done moving and can find the right boxes (at least 2), I can post another dissertation on the movie. if you can't wait, I believe many years ago, I posted a similar time line, along with who they wanted to play what parts, and what cars were originally supposed to be used in the production, same goes for scouting out locations, the permissions from each state, etc.
