Jack stands probably have a narrower base than the Quick Jack, so I would think the QJs would be harder to tip. If they're going to tip I wouldn't want to be under there - so a healthy hip check or a good shove on each corner before crawling under is in order.

I have the 5000 lb model and find stability to be pretty darn good as long as you pay close attention to the placement of the individual lifts and the rubber blocks to contact the frame rails properly. It took a little practice and a few tries to get it right but once it is done correctly it is solid. I just keep the lifts under the car when I park to leave more room in the garage, and because they are pretty heavy and thus moving them around requires some effort. Doable but more effort than I was expecting.
