Well, it's been raining all day in "Sunny" Arizona...

But since the UPS man came yesterday with a big box from SummitRacing, and a smaller box from Fran Kress, I had plenty to keep me busy in the garage...

And, I've had the car almost a week - So why not start drilling holes and swapping parts?

Anybody wanna buy a pair of later style Red, White, and Blue Cobra deck emblems...? I have a pair I no longer need

That change looks awesome. Are you going to get pin drive wheels or stay with the lug nuts??

Thanks

I'm keeping the lug nuts... but I am hacking on an idea for camouflaging them a little better... more to come on that later (if it works )

Oh, and I forgot to mention that while I had my valve covers off, I learned something else about my engine- Solid lifters, Serious old-school.

I tried to install that same round air filter housing on my SPF....no go....the hood bangs into the housing by about an inch. Had to stick with my small-diameter filter/housing. Bummer.

They do make recessed-bases for those 14 inch air cleaners, which would drop the top about 1-1/2 inches. That might still be tight on your engine, but just something to ponder:

14 inch air cleaner recessed base

I had the tape measure out, and was measuring for the Scott Drake air cleaner and valve covers about 4 hours after unloading my car from the trailer the day I brought it home

I still have about 3/4 inch of clearance between the air cleaner lid and the underside of the hood.
