It sold for $22,000. It initially sold for $18,000 at Mecum in 2010. I bought the uncrushed movie car at that auction for $35,000 plus commission. Whoever bought it in 2010 just paid a hefty storage fee for 4.5 years. $3,640 in auction fees plus transportation x2 equals around $6,000-$7,000. So they lost around $2,000-$3,000 on the car.
NO WAY they can rebuild that car without a complete new body. All parts on the car are pretty much junk. They claim the drivetrain was taken out for the show, but that car never had a drivetrain, nor did mine. The suspension is all made from defective reject parts, there are rods in place of the coil-over shocks, the side pipes are fake, there is no differential or brakes, all electronics are fake, etc. The suspension, brakes, and rear end are going to cost around $25,000 alone, not to mention a new body $35,000???, and I have to wonder if the frame is damaged?
I ended up with close to $100,000 in the uncrushed Ironman Kirkham. I walked away with 119,000 in my pocket when i sold it at Mecum in 2012, which means i made about $23.00 per hour for the time i spent building it into a functional street car.

Well of course, but as i previously stated, i think this car's future value is only as a movie prop.
Just a quick add up
22,000 purchase price plus 10 percent commission.
$25,000 for suspension, brakes, and rear end
$25,000 for an FE engine and TKO transmission
$35,000 or so for a new body
$10,000-$15,000 for paint and bodywork
$3500 for headers and side exhaust
$5,000-$8,000 for electrical, gauges, and new interior
$5000 for miscellaneous....steering column, steering shaft, horn button, shifter, etc.
$3,000 for fuel tank, brackets, fuel lines, fuel pump, and fuel filter
Then there is transport, overhead, insurance, consignment fees, seller's commission, etc. etc. etc.
I could give them the number of the current owner of the car I built and save them a lot of headaches. Maybe they can just put the crushed car in secret storage and run my old car through auction next year claiming it as the rebuilt crushed car.
