We have been very lucky to have the #13 car here in Utah at the Miller Sports Park museum. Just one of many famous Cobras. I wonder what is going to happen to the cars next month when they close.

No, Dan. The 'lost' ex-Phil Specter Cobra is CSX2287; owned as displayed relatively as found by Dr Simeone at his race museum in Philadelphia. On display in the extremely cool museum; as raced; and as found.

I have heard that most of Miller's cars will end up in Boulder. The family will retain ownership and display them there.

That's one of the cars that were sold for $2800 because they didn't want to pay to bring them back across the pond? If they/we only knew....

I for one hope they never restore that car.

Reportedly, when the car was 'refreshed' after being pulled out of the storage facility the workers still found sand from the Bonneville endurance tests all over the car, and the tires still held air after being flat for who knows how long. Quite a history with this first of the Daytonas; the prototype and lone American-built car goes from racer to salt runner to used car of a slot-car maven to record producer to holy grail to museum jewel in the crown. It's cool to see it as it was, rough and battered with dents, scrapes, and distortions. A reminder just how hard these cars (and men) were pushed to achieve all that they did. I don't think you can get that picture from the other five in their beautiful fully restored pristine glory (well, except for maybe CSX2286 after Rob Waltons' Laguna Seca shunt ). I hope she stays in her unrestored glory as well, she has certainly earned it!

I don't know where "sand" and Bonneville cross paths as Bonneville is a salt surface?
