Don't we have an exemption for this out-dated requirement? I have never had anyone ask me for one and I have never supplied them so means it has been phased out for more than 5 years. I certainly thought it was no longer required.
The fuel filler restrictor requirement is in one of the clauses in our emissions ADR(37/01) as there was still leaded fuel around back when this ADR was current.
Even the RAWS(jap import compliance shops) don't fit fuel filler inlet restrictors to ADR 37/01 applicable vehicles. They have an exemption for it.
That precedent should be a good enough argument with an engineer/transport department to lift the requirement if anyone still asks for it.
