Greg,

I'm doing the same planning as we speak. Did you ever find the correct trunk and door weatherstripping? The trunk on the CR1 uses a pinch weld flange type of seal that slips over the trunk opening internal flange, not the adhesive style that ERA uses. Also, the door seals on the original CR1s always seemed to me to be a little to "fat", causing fitment issues or closure issues with the doors. I always thought a slightly thinner adhesive backed EPDM seal would work better for the doors.

I'm planning on painting my CR1 again, (I'm an old Combo Tech that has worked in the auto coatings world for the last 32 years, so I'll do myself in a friends baking booth). I know that when I get all my door, hood and trunk gaps perfect without weatherstripping prior to painting, the doors are somewhat difficult to close due to the amount of compression you need to get the doors to latch. Almost unnecessary as the door seals are for nothing more than NVH elimination and squeaks, since their not performing the normal operation of keeping water out since these are definitely roadsters. Keeping water out when you don't have a top is kinda like putting a screen door on a submarine.

What did you eventually go with for all the seals? Doors and Decklid?
