When redoing the muffler system, used the disc inserts from Car Chemistry. These are available with 1 to 3 discs, and center tube plugs for either a partial restriction or a plug that forces all the exhaust gases into the discs. These plugs do not have to be used.

Did not measure the db, but the system is quieter. Used the three disc system without the plugs

Available from Summit Racing.

It has been mentioned that the discs, with or without the plugs , create too much back pressure , but for street driving have not had any adverse effects.

Kevin

Just got the car back with the new pipes. Used 2 inch primaries into a collector down to 3.5" ID, then through the Howe Racing Mufflers and out at 90 degrees. Sounds incredible - I mean quality of sound is much better and the engine winds out noticeably faster than before - it REALLY uncorked the exhaust without too much loss of torque.

On another point, I am having some concern about the front control arms in my suspension. On both sides, on the top A-Arm there are a pile of fat washers bolted in on the leading edge that push the a-arm out. Other than the concern over a set up like that from a strength perspective, the a arm on the bottom is now pushing into the disk brake and is starting to wear into it.

Have you ever had a problem like this? Have you heard of anyone that has?

There is a group purchase going on at FFCobra of 24" long Lobak spiral mufflers:

Some pictures are at:

You just cut out your old glasspack and weld in the new one. RPM also sells a 20" version (not part of the group purchase though).
