I started with a used stock WC T5 in 2002 with a 302 pushing about 350 HP and TQ at the wheels. That T5 didn't last long. Maybe it was on it's way out from the Mustang GT it came from - who knows. I had it rebuilt with G-Gorce gears about 2004. Many spirited track sessions later including engine swap to a 408W, a guest driver helped to loose a few teeth in 3rd gear while shifting. Also toasted the counter shaft. Had them replaced with new G-Force parts. Since then have had no issues. I now have a SHP 408 dry sump pushing better than 550 HP and TQ. The tranny is handling it well. By the way, the tires will also have a bearing on tranny gear life. I'm Running Nitto NT01 rubber on the street and BFG R1S on the track. If you run street tires the tranny should last even longer.
