SVO460 - I posted my engines weight earlier in this thread and it is consistant with your given weights. Remember I have a big 40 lbs. weight air pump on my iron. As for how it ran last summer I was bitterly disapointed, but I guess I have to remember it was the first times out. I ran 10.50's out of the box at IRP, with 1.30's shorts and major tranny problems. My car weighed 2800 at that time. Since then I've done major work on the suspension, both front and rear, added Wilwood brakes, and switched to a Coan/Dedenbear glide with a 10" converter. I plan on innercooling next season and with a new aluminum radiator I should be about 180 lbs lighter too. My stated objective of this very streetable car is to go 9.5's or below. I get up to Chi town every once in awhile but it's usially with a Mopar crowd around me.
You are correct that folks around this board grossly under estimate the power of 385's. But what you under estimate is the fact that Cobras can't use that 385 power in almost all cases too.
