Hi Dave,
I'm running the oil accumulator (ACCUSUMP) into the front port just above where the mechanical fuel pump would be if I had one - the front left side (that would be our driver's side, your passenger side  ) of the block. This gallery is just above and on the output side of the oil pump.
Just went to look; both the rear port atop the bell housing and the front port seem to be around 3/8" NPT (standard pipe thread) to my (un)calibrated eyeball.
I use the rear port for a mechanical oil pressure gauge. If you're going to do any track time, a big red "low oil pressure" light would be a good idea too, not that I have one.
