Unhappy Carb Tuning

Can someone give me a name of someone that can tune my carb? I have worked on it, but do not seem to be getting anywhere. I know it is running rich but I can't seem to get it leaned out. It has a Edelbrock carb that probably needs replacing.

Thumbs up Mike Rice - Carb Tuner

Here's a recommendation from ToyCollector. Mike tuned my carb up and it's still running like a champ. As mentioned he is meticulous and he spent about 4-5 hours on mine. Took it off, changed the jets, and shooters and then spent a lot of time with a vacum gauge adjusting the 4 corner idle and float levels. Mine was pretty finicky, but he got it tuned.

"....His name is Mike Rice and he is off of Shallowford Road at the Cobb County line where Davis Rd is. His sleeping patterns follow the sun (just like me ) Home is 770-977-5556, cell, 404-403-7705. TELL HIM Mike Geng (Mustang/Cobra) sent you, and you want to pay for the job, not by the hour. Do not hide anything. If you ****ed around with your carb, tell him. There are no short cuts as we learn the hard way. He really is a true mechanic and has a gift...just don't pay by the hour..because he's meticulous."

There's also a shop in Marietta - The Carb Shop or something like that. They could probably also do it.

Tuning a carb is as much art as it is science. I just spent the last several days "dialing in" my twin Holleys. I've had them on and off the car so many times I could do it blindfolded. There working great now, a pile of "springs", "jets" and "power valves" left over on the bench.

A good carb mechanic is hard to find and worth the money, good hunting!

Tip: One of the things I did was disconnect the rear secondaries linkage so I could focus on just "two barrels" at a time.

HSSS427, Excaliber, lovehamr,

Thanks to all you guys! I was starting to wonder if everyone did not like me...lovehamr, I read all the post on the link and I now believe the same as they. HSSS427 & Excaliber, I spoke with Mike today and he does sound like he can do whatever is nessecary.

The funny thing was when I saw the name Mike Rice I remembered a skinny little kid that lived three doors down the street from me when I was 16. Tonight when I spoke with Mike I asked him if he ever live on my street. He completed my question before I finished. Mike was the skinny 10 year old that lived down the street. I hung around over at his house alot because he had a good looking older sister. It's been about 37 years since I saw him last and have a meeting with him later this week, small world! I am just trying to remember if I picked on him when he was little? It could be a little scary!

I know the name sounds too ordinary to be good but if you are in Woodstock try Joe's Auto Service. They are located at 113 B Emma Lane (770) 517-2695.

They are true experts on high performance cars and did a great job tuning my 750 Holly. It's been a year and the car still runs great and clean.

Thanks Ed,

I will go by there and talk with them. I know right where they are. Too simple...
