Yes, have been in contact with the owner for many years. But how do you define 'last'?

I'm assuming that this is the last RS Ace to date produced directly by the AC Car Company (in contrast to one started under licence by AC Heritage).

Great car though with 2.6 Ace shape and V8 engine - this is what it's all about!

Well, if you would like to make a profit I have a nice 1986 MK IV red over tan, fuel injected known since new for $75,000. In fact it has the original MSO and invoice made out to my dealership that go with it.

Larry Ellison already has a one-off book from the Kirkhams. I guess you just figured that you could get him to buy one copy of your next book for a large chunk of change and not have to worry about publishing more than one copy?

Trevor, Kevin Kivlochan has given you 13 pictures of the Angolan Cobra being raced in 1965 for your new book, according to Classic Cars Magazine.

Despite scepticism about the 2009 prototype which had too much in common with the Dax, all the reports I've read suggest that, unlike the Mk V, the Mk VI is a serious motor car - a distinct model in its own right rather than an exact copy of the Mk III.

Interesting body construction as well: Aluminium coated composite body reinforced with honeycomb and carbon or, if you want to spend extra, a carbon /kevlar composite.

AC Automotive - AC MkVI

I'll admit to being confused - so the bodywork consists of aluminum filings in a GRP-based composite?? I'm probably wrong so feel free to enlighten me, and advise why this is so desirable

I'm in no way an expert, but according to Mr Lubinsky (in a quick Google search), the composite provides strength and the aluminium coating a high quality finish. I've just joined the AC Owners Club and will post more once I've read April's 'Action' which apparently has a detailed article on the car.

According to the August 2009 'Octane' article on the prototype, the finish is excellent.

According to Mr. Lubinsky he will inport Aussie Utes to the UK and power them with LPG.

According to Mr. Lubinsky AC will to take over the Smart Roadster model.

According to Mr. Lubinsky AC will complete the development of the Ace Brooklands and Aceca.

According to......ah, this is "low hanging fruit" and too easy.

We could have two or three pages of "according to's" if I wanted to type that much.

But hey, I just have a "bad additude"........

The evidence backed up by reputable journalists in the UK suggests that the Mk VI is being produced to a high standard by Gullwing in Germany. The fact that the car is being built by Jurgen Mohr's company who also produce an excellent 300SL Gullwing replica (rather than by Mr L.) , should give the potential purchaser some confidence.

Ergo it is a fine motorcar, just NOT an "AC" (save for the licensed nameplate).

Would a new Corvette if licensed to be the "AC MK XXV" be an "AC"???????

It would. Much to the same extent that the Jaguars produced under the parentage of Ford are still Jaguars. And the Chryslers produced by Daimler... and ... and ...

AC as it existed in the 60's is no longer and has evolved (devolved? ) into something else. It isn't the old AC anymore, but if the current, legally recognized incarnation of the brand calls it an AC then it's an AC, see?

Now that we've sorted that out, are you henceforth to be known as Mark VI?

uil;

Bite thy tongue!!

And yes, Ford did own Jaguar, but the cars were still built and sold by Jaguar. Ford, at one point "owned" AC, and the cars were built and sold by "AC" so they were ACs. Now that Tata owns Jaguar are they no longer "Jaguars"????

And at one point AC had the Ace Brooklands chassis and shell built by Hi Tech Automotive in South Africa, but the design and sales were by AC. The German dea lis different as the car is not an AC design built by a subcontractor, but someones elses design licensed and SOLD as an "AC".

Sorry but once more, AC does not exist save for a legal shell entity.
