Default wrecked SPF on eBay

That seems like a lot of damage for a 35mph crash....

Did you see how far back the engine/trans was pushed?

Man...35 MPH is a killer...

I don't think there's $15k in salvageable parts.

Looks like the steering wheel did its job, though - 1960s airbag.

$15k starting bid...

What a heartbreak for the owner. Anyone from CC?

At least the seller is making the bent frame, pulley, et cetera exceptionally clear to any potential buyers.

That accident report I think sets a new record: "From $50k to $15k in 3.5 seconds."

Sorry. Sometimes I just can't help myself...

Yikes! Maybe the guy hit the gas instead of the brake after the first impact.

Really sad to see. I guess the car is sitting at Redline Service in Tucson.

A few layers of Zaino ought to cover that up.

Hey, if Tiger can F up a big 'ol Cad SUV and not tweak his air bag (i.e. under 30mph), then I can see how 35mph will wreak havoc on 'glass. Don't forget that the radiator on an SPF is already slanted toward the front of the car, so it's still mostly in the normal position.

I wonder if the guy will consider parting it out? There are a few items I wouldn't mind salvaging for later use.

I figure the car was actually moving at 35mph---as he spun the tires up in a burn-out, which probably caught grip right as he shifted to second at 4500 rpm. Right after that, the tree, then the pillar, then the tow truck...

And in your own neighborhood. That's pretty embarassing. It makes walking down to pick up your newspaper while still in your robe that has the red hearts on it look like nothing.

OUUUUCH!

I like the dried blood on the rear fender, nice touch!
There are some good parts.
Headlight switch, dash mirror, a couple of gages....

I think the speed estimate is accurate, after it hit the tree and spun, it was traveling thru the air, side ways, the back of the car hit the pillar(?)
Thusly decelerating it down to 35mph on its way to 0...

Dean, are you ready? listen for it..

"SEE, SEE! SPF's suck! You can't even drive them thru a tree and a pillar without stuff falling off them! a Turn-key ERA with an FE(-eble excuse for an engine), would have just mowed that tree down as it came with Speed-Racer edition, mach-5, tree cutting, saw blades..."
OR
"You see when God created the ERA, he made them impervious to trees..."

Upon further review, that car really is F'd up good. FWIW, I sent the seller a note basically telling him that between here and SCOF there are enough interested parties to scavenge that nightmare if he realizes that parting it out will be easier to move parts than the whole ugly mess.

Stay tuned...

I thought that may have been Tigers car! Did you see the damage on the rear end? That could have been from his wife and the golf club.

Seriously, I've seen fiberglass damage worse than that from a 25mph collision. A 35 mph crash is extremely violent. My guess is the driver's glad he had a 4pt. harness, but still in rough shape.

Wow, that is pretty bad, I would think a fair price would be $10K at best, once you factor in shipping etc it may not even be worth that. You would almost have to own you own body shop to make that one worth while.

That's sad. Was it stolen? They seem to end up this way in a hurry when jacked.
